Use shielded 18 AWG twisted-pair wire for each phase. Keep the cable length under 15 meters (50 feet) to minimize capacitance and voltage drop. Connect the shield to the driver’s earth ground terminal, not both ends (to avoid ground loops).

Like all 1.8° steppers, the 23KM-C051-09V has a mid-range resonance zone around 200–300 full steps per second. Use microstepping (at least 1/8 step) or a damped coupling to prevent missed steps.
