Adobe introduced Speech to Text in Premiere Pro as a powerful, free feature (starting in version 22.0) that automatically generates transcriptions and creates on-screen captions for your video projects. Unlike earlier third-party plugins or manual captioning, this tool is fully integrated, uses Adobe’s Sensei AI, and requires no additional cost.

Unlike older plugins that locked you into a separate window, the Speech to Text panel in 2022 allowed you to click on a word in the transcript and have the playhead jump instantly to that spot in the timeline.
