Scene 1: Amneris’s Chambers
Amneris prepares for the victory celebration. She tricks Aida into admitting love for Radamès by first claiming Radamès is dead, then revealing he lives. Aida’s cry of joy exposes her secret. Amneris vows revenge.

Scene 2: The Grand March at Thebes’s Gate
