Work | Aka Levels Zip

"AKA" often implies Aliasing. In advanced ZIP work, two files might be identical in content but different in name.

unzip -v file.zip | head -20

Look for Defl (levels 1-9) vs Stored (level 0). aka levels zip work

zip -1 logs_$(date +%Y%m%d).zip /var/log/app/*.log

Saves time, still reduces size moderately.

To understand how to control the "Zip," you have to understand the levels involved. These are the "AKAs"—the different names and states of level measurement that drive the compression engine: "AKA" often implies Aliasing
