Archicad Hatch May 2026
Also found in the pet palette. This allows you to make the pattern larger or smaller graphically.
Use a simple parallel‑line hatch with 45° angle. Set spacing to match your region’s standard (e.g., 150 mm in Europe, 6″ in US). Assign it to a dedicated “Insulation” fill. archicad hatch
In older workflows, users would "explode" a hatch to turn it into individual lines. This is not recommended in modern BIM workflows as it breaks the link to the attribute and creates massive file bloat. Instead, use the "Explode into Current Fill" option if necessary, or use the Fill Tool's "Edit Fill Pattern" feature in the Attributes menu. Also found in the pet palette
Cause: You are using a "Cut Fill" but looking at a surface. Fix: In Section/Elevation, you are seeing the Surface (material texture), not the Fill. You must apply a Cover Fill (under the Model > Surface panel in Element Settings) to override the 2D representation of the material. Tip: When creating a Symbol Fill, you define a "Frame" size
Vectorial Fills are mathematical patterns. They are lines and dots generated by Archicad's engine.
If the default library doesn't have the hatch you need, you can create your own via Options > Element Attributes > Fills.
Tip: When creating a Symbol Fill, you define a "Frame" size. The pattern inside the frame repeats infinitely. You can also set an "Offset" and "Direction" so the pattern aligns perfectly with the element's origin.
