Artificial Academy 2 | Mac

There is no official Mac version of AA2. Attempting to run the AA2Play.exe file directly will fail. Any successful execution requires one of the methods below.

Version Focus: Artificial Academy 2 (AA2) by Illusion Target OS: macOS 11 (Big Sur) through macOS 14 (Sonoma) / macOS 15 (Sequoia)

Artificial Academy 2 is abandonware. Illusion no longer sells the game (their Japanese storefront closed in 2023). While "abandonware" is not legally recognized, no developer is currently losing sales because there is no digital storefront selling a Mac version. However, you should still ethically seek out a backup of your own original DVD copy if you own one. There is no official Mac version of AA2

For the most stable experience on an Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel Mac:

Expected performance: 30–60 FPS on M1 Pro or higher; lower on Intel integrated graphics. Legal Note: You must own a legitimate copy

If Wine fails, virtualization is your backup. This runs a full copy of Windows inside macOS.

Verdict: Use a VM only for modding or character creation. For actual gameplay, Wine/Crossover is superior.
