Step 1: Extract and Initialize
After extracting the ZIPs, locate setup.exe. Wait for the "Autodesk AutoCAD 2016 Setup" dialog to appear. This may take 2-3 minutes as it unpacks components.

Step 6: The Waiting Game Installation takes 20–40 minutes. A progress bar will show components being registered. Do not click Cancel, do not sleep your PC.
Step 7: Completion Click "Finish". Reboot your computer immediately – even if not prompted.

Cause: Corrupted Microsoft Visual C++ libraries or insufficient permissions.
Solution:
Temporarily disable Windows Defender, McAfee, Norton, or Malwarebytes. They often quarantine the ODIS (Autodesk component installer) or setup.exe as false positives.
Even if the installer says “success,” three things are broken.
