Carbide Create V6 Download ⚡ Quick
If you are currently using Carbide Create V5 (the older Qt-based application), note the following differences:
Carbide 3D recommends new users start with V6, while long-time users with existing V5 projects may want to keep both installed.
If you are still using V5, here is a direct comparison: carbide create v6 download

Our recommendation: If you only make simple signs and boxes, V5 is stable. But if you want to carve 3D models (furniture parts, figurines, molds), download V6 immediately. The STL support alone is a game-changer. If you are currently using Carbide Create V5
No. Windows 7 is end-of-life and not supported. You need Windows 10 or 11.
We are excited to announce the release of Carbide Create v6, the newest version of our free, professional-grade CAD/CAM software designed specifically for Carbide 3D machines. Whether you are a hobbyist just starting out or a seasoned machinist, v6 brings powerful new features to your workshop without the complexity of traditional CNC software. Carbide 3D recommends new users start with V6
Absolutely. Select "Generic G-code" as your machine. You may need to manually edit the post-processor for specific commands like spindle on/off (M3/M5).
Carbide Create V6 is a stable time capsule – not great, not terrible. For free 2.5D CAM on a GRBL router, it’s perfectly usable. But the download is hidden on the website for a reason: V7 is objectively better for new users. Only hunt for V6 if you have legacy hardware or a paid perpetual license.
Recommendation: Download V7 free first. If it runs slowly or crashes, then fall back to V6.
