Dion began her career at age 12 when her mother and brother Jacques wrote the song “Ce n’était qu’un rêve.” Her first album, La voix du bon Dieu (1981), established her as a teenage star in Quebec. Albums like Les chemins de ma maison (1983) and Mélanie (1984) showcased her powerful, emotive voice, but it was the 1987 album Incognito that brought her national fame in Canada and France. During this period, Dion sang primarily sentimental ballads and pop-chanson, often compared to Ginette Reno and Barbra Streisand. | Year | Album | Notable Features |
