Most modern 721 cutters connect via USB. To make Windows 10 recognize the machine, you need the correct USB-to-Serial driver.

1. Check the Chipset: Look at the back or the inside circuit board of your plotter. You will likely see a USB port. In Device Manager (see below), you can identify the chipset. Most generic plotters use a CH340 or HL-340 chipset, or occasionally an FTDI chipset.

Many 721 plotters work through SignMaster, Sure Cuts A Lot, or VinylMaster. These programs include universal driver packages. Installing the software often installs the driver automatically.
