Early versions of the Duolingo Math APK had some bugs on Android—occasional crashes, misaligned touch targets, or problems with handwriting recognition. However, as of the latest updates (spring/summer 2025), the app runs very well on:
Common user reports indicate that the APK version is 99% feature-complete compared to iOS. The only missing piece might be push notifications (some APK versions don’t register for notifications properly) and cloud sync hiccups—though your progress is generally saved to your Duolingo account.
An APK (Android Package Kit) is the file format Android uses to distribute and install apps. When you download an app from the Google Play Store, you’re essentially downloading an APK automatically. However, downloading an APK from a third-party website means you are bypassing Google’s security checks.
As of now, Duolingo Math does not interrupt you with video ads. The app is completely free, though Duolingo may eventually introduce a Super Duolingo Math subscription for extra features (like mistake review or offline mode).
