Upd: Greyscalegorilla Hdri Link 1054 For Cinema 4d R20 Win Mac

GreyScaleGorilla no longer sells HDRI Link separately – it’s now part of GSG Plus (subscription). However, existing perpetual license owners can download archived versions from their GSG account library.

If you own a legacy license:

Warning for macOS users: Version 1054 is not notarized by Apple (pre-2020). On Catalina, you may need to right-click → Open C4D once to override Gatekeeper. GreyScaleGorilla no longer sells HDRI Link separately –

  • Copy the extracted Greyscalegorilla folder into the plugins folder.
  • Restart Cinema 4D R20.
  • HDRI Link does not work natively with R20’s node-based materials on the Sky object.
Solution: Always apply HDRI Link to a standard Sky object (Create > Environment > Sky). The Sky object can still use a standard material with a Color channel → TextureHDRI Link shader (which the tag creates automatically). Warning for macOS users: Version 1054 is not

The short answer is yes. While Greyscalegorilla has since integrated HDRI tools into their "Plus" subscription and the native C4D Asset Browser, those methods are not backward-compatible with R20. For artists running legacy pipelines (e.g., V-Ray 3.7 for R20, Octane 4.0 for R20), HDRI Link 1054 remains unmatched. Copy the extracted Greyscalegorilla folder into the plugins

Alternatives like "HDRI Browser" by Kamil Zajaczkowski exist, but none offer the simple folder-linking speed of GSG’s plugin. Version 1054 is the gold standard for stability.
