Performance Settings for Chromebook Linux: Gta San Andreas Download Chromebook Extra Quality
Verdict: This is the true “extra quality” goal. On a newer Chromebook (like an Acer Spin 713 or ASUS CX9), you’ll get 60 FPS at 1080p with modded graphics that rival the PS3 remaster.
Open the game’s gta_sa.set file (located in ~/.local/share/GTA San Andreas User Files/) using a text editor. Add these lines for extra quality on a Chromebook: Here is where the magic happens
[DISPLAY]
AspectRatio=Auto
ResX=1920
ResY=1080
FrameLimiter=Off
VisualFX=VeryHigh
DrawDistance=100
ResolutionMultiplier=2
Important: On Chromebooks with Intel UHD Graphics, turn FrameLimiter Off only if you lock VSync via Chrome OS display settings. Otherwise, CJ will run in hyperspeed.
This is the easiest way to get that "Extra Quality" gameplay. It runs natively, meaning you don't need to be a tech wizard to get it working. Installation (Advanced but Worth It):
If you want the definitive extra quality experience—the same as playing on a Windows laptop—you need the original PC version. This requires using your Chromebook’s Linux (Crostini) feature.
Note: This only works on Intel/AMD (x86) Chromebooks with at least 64GB storage and 8GB RAM. Check your Chromebook’s specs first.
