Vanbrodski Motor — Kupoprodajni Ugovor Za

The morning mist clung to the surface of the Adriatic like a secret refusing to be told. The marina was quiet, save for the clanking of a halyard against an aluminum mast and the distant hum of a diesel generator.

Marko stood by the dock, his hands thrust deep into the pockets of his worn canvas jacket. Beside him, resting on a wooden pallet, sat the object of the day’s transaction: a Yamaha 100HP outboard motor. It was scarred, its cowling scratched from years of fishing nets and rocky shores, but beneath the cosmetic wear, it was a beast.

"So," said Luka, the older man standing across from him. Luka had hands the size of shovels and a face weathered by forty years of salt and sun. "You’re sure about this, Marko? It’s a lot of money for an old engine."

"It’s not old, Luka," Marko replied, his voice steady. "It’s experienced. And it’s exactly what the Galeb needs."

Marko had spent the last year restoring the Galeb, a dilapidated family boat he had inherited from his grandfather. He had replaced the ribs, sanded the hull, and varnished the wood until it gleamed. But without a heart, the boat was just a floating museum piece. He needed an engine that was reliable, powerful enough to fight the currents, and affordable.

Luka nodded slowly. He looked from the motor to Marko. He knew the young man’s story. He knew the long nights, the scraped knuckles, and the dwindling savings account.

"Alright," Luka said, reaching into his weathered leather satchel. "Let’s make it official."

Luka pulled out a clipboard and a pen, and on top, a freshly printed sheet of paper: KUPOPRODAJNI UGOVOR ZA VANBRODSKI MOTOR.

In the digital age, where money changes hands with a tap of a screen, the act of filling out a physical contract felt almost ceremonial. It lent gravity to the moment.

Luka clicked his pen. "Date?" he asked.

"October 14th," Marko replied.

Luka wrote it down in neat, blocky letters. Then he began to list the details. The atmosphere shifted from casual chatting to something more serious. This was no longer two neighbors discussing horsepower; it was a legal transfer of ownership.

Predmet ugovora (Subject of the contract):

As Luka wrote down the serial number, Marko felt a knot of tension in his stomach. This string of alphanumeric characters was the engine’s fingerprint. It represented the shift of liability, the promise of function, and the end of Luka’s stewardship.

"Cijena (Price)," Luka said aloud. "Three thousand five hundred Euros."

Marko swallowed. He had the cash in a white envelope in his inside pocket. It was his savings for the season.

"Način plaćanja (Method of payment): Gotovina (Cash)," Luka wrote.

Then came the section that always made Marko nervous: Garancija (Warranty) and Stanje (Condition).

Luka paused. He could have checked the box for Kupac je upoznat sa stanjem i ne prigovara (Buyer is aware of the condition and waives claims)—a standard "as-is" clause that would absolve him of everything the moment the ink dried. It was the smart move, the safe move.

But Luka looked at the motor, then back at Marko. He remembered how Marko had helped him unload crates last summer without asking for a dime. He remembered the fire in the kid's eyes when he spoke about the Galeb.

Instead of the standard waiver, Luka wrote a handwritten addendum in the margins. His handwriting was shaky but legible. kupoprodajni ugovor za vanbrodski motor

"Prodavatelj jamči da motor nema mehaničkih oštećenja unutrašnjosti i da je kompresija u svim cilindrima unutar normalnih granica. Garancija na rad traje šest mjeseci."

Marko blinked. "Luka, you don't have to do that. I’m buying it used. I know the risks."

Luka tapped the paper with the pen. "It’s a matter of honor, Marko. This motor pushed my boat through three storms. It never quit on me. I won’t let it quit on you because of a hidden fault I knew about. If the lower unit blows in a month, I’ll fix it. That’s what a contract is for—not just to protect the seller, but to bind a man to his word."

Marko pulled the envelope from his jacket. He counted out the bills, the crisp paper making a soft snapping sound in the sea breeze. He handed them to Luka.

Luka counted them once, folded them, and put them away. He signed the bottom of the page with a flourish.

Potpis prodavatelja: Luka Radic

He turned the clipboard around and handed the pen to Marko.

Marko looked at the line at the bottom. Potpis kupca. By signing this, he wasn't just buying a machine. He was accepting the responsibility for the Galeb’s future. He was betting his season, his livelihood, and his grandfather’s legacy on this engine.

He signed his name.

Potpis kupca: Marko Vukovic

They shook hands, their grips firm and calloused. Luka helped Marko load the heavy motor onto a trolley. As they wheeled it toward the Galeb, the sun finally broke through the mist, illuminating the white paper of the contract folded in Marko’s breast pocket.

It was a heavy burden, but a welcome one. Marko had his anchor. The season could finally begin.
