The Hunter Rank (HR) in MHGU is not just a number. Once you beat the final boss (Ahtal-Ka), your HR uncaps. Reaching HR 999 requires hunting literally thousands of high-level monsters. A top save file will have maxed out HR. This unlocks nothing mechanically, but it is the ultimate badge of honor.

Often labeled “100%” but technically incomplete on awards. These files have 999 of every monster part, ore, and consumable. Useful for players who want to craft everything without farming. However, many contain illegal charms (e.g., 3x Expert +20 with 3 slots).

Unlike a typical RPG, MHGU doesn’t have a single progress bar. The community generally defines a complete save file by these milestones:

A true 100% save file will have HR 999, all 100 awards, and every item box slot filled with max-upgraded gear.
