Before you search for any link, you need precise terminology. The Motorola CP140 is programmed using a legacy version of Motorola Professional Radio CPS.

If you see a link for “Mototrbo CPS” or “Astro 25 CPS,” ignore it. Those are for different digital radio families and will not recognize your CP140.

The CP140 is narrowband-only (12.5 kHz steps). You cannot program wideband frequencies (25 kHz) on most versions. Also, if your radio is flashed with a trunking or LTR system, standard CPS may not work—you’d need even rarer system software.

  • QT/DQT Decode: Configurable on a per-channel basis to mute the speaker until a specific code is received.
  • A: No. The CP140 is not supported by CHIRP, RT Systems, or any open-source tools. You must use Motorola’s Professional CPS.
