3ds Cia Install: Omori

OMORI is a modern indie RPG built on the RPG Maker MV engine. The 3DS does not natively support this engine.

Because there is no official port, if you are looking for a .cia file, you are looking for an unofficial, community-created port. The most prominent project is "OMORI 3DS" by developer Edo9200. This is not a simple rip of a game; it is a custom application that runs the game's assets through a custom interpreter designed for the 3DS.

  • Install Omori:

  • Play Omori: Once installed, you can find and play Omori from your 3DS home screen.

  • You need two things:

For the launcher: Go to EasyRoach’s GitHub repository (search “EasyRoach OMORI 3DS” – I cannot link directly due to policy, but it is the top result on any search engine). Look for the omorI3ds.cia file in the Releases section. omori 3ds cia install

For the game assets: You need the www folder from the PC version of OMORI. This contains all the graphics, music, maps, and scripts. You must own the game legally on Steam or Itch.io. Piracy is not supported here.

    Yes. But with caveats.

Playing OMORI on a handheld—specifically the 3DS with its dual screens—feels intimate. The top screen shows the dream world; the bottom screen serves as a map/inventory. It feels like this is where the game was always meant to be played, tucked under a blanket with headphones on.

However, this is not the definitive version. You will encounter visual glitches in the "Photo Album" sequences. The final duet might have audio desync. But for the sheer novelty of battling Aubrey on a train ride to work? It is a technical marvel.

Even with the perfect setup, things go wrong. Here are the most common errors and fixes. OMORI is a modern indie RPG built on

For the technically insane, you can install Linux on a 3DS (via 3DSLinux). Once booted into a barebones ARM Linux environment, you could theoretically run the Linux version of RPG Maker MV Player. In practice, the framerate is 1-2 FPS, the audio crackles, and the battery dies in 40 minutes.

    We do not recommend this.

Since you cannot buy this on the eShop, the installation process differs slightly from standard games:

The "Easy" Way (Universal-Updater): The most user-friendly way to get this specific port is through the Universal-Updater app, which is a homebrew app store for 3DS.

The Manual Way (CIA Installation): If you have acquired the .cia file manually from a community release page (like the project's GitHub release page): Install Omori :

If you’ve ever looked at your Nintendo 3DS and thought, “You know what this needs? Existential dread and turn-based emotion combat,” then you’re in luck.

Thanks to the incredible work of the homebrew community, the critically acclaimed psychological horror RPG OMORI has been unofficially ported to the Nintendo 3DS. While it isn’t an official release (and likely never will be), playing Sunny’s journey on the dual screens of a 3DS feels strangely natural.
