Installing a new sound file is generally a straightforward process, but it requires backing up your data.

The beauty of PES 6 modding is that you don’t have to settle for the original 2006 audio. Once you secure a working e-sound.afs, you can upgrade it.

The file typically ranges from 200 MB to 400 MB depending on whether it’s a stock version or a heavily modded one. Without an intact e-sound.afs, PES 6 defaults to silence or crashes when an audio event triggers. pes 6 e-sound.afs download


While this is a full conversion mod, it includes an updated e-sound.afs with 2024-25 season chants and custom commentary. If you’re modding anyway, this is a one-stop solution.

  • Rename your existing e-sound.afs to e-sound.afs.bak.
    This creates a backup in case something goes wrong. Installing a new sound file is generally a

  • Copy the newly downloaded e-sound.afs into the dat folder.
    Do not rename or modify it at this stage.

  • If the game crashes: Rebuild the AFS file. While this is a full conversion mod, it

  • Launch PES 6 and test audio.
    Go to Exhibition Mode → Choose any two teams → Listen for commentary and crowd.

  • Optional: Adjust audio levels in System Settings → Sound Configuration.


  • "e_sound.afs" is the English language sound archive used by Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PES 6). It contains commentary, goal/ambient crowd sounds, music cues and other audio assets for the English-language game build. Community patches and mods commonly replace or edit e_sound.afs (or equivalent language files like g_sound, 0_sound) to change commentary, add crowd chants, goal jingles, or tweak in-match audio behavior.
