The title Kasiping comes from the Hiligaynon word meaning "one who sleeps beside you" or "bedmate." In Visayan folklore, a kasiping is a supernatural entity – often a restless spirit or an aswang variant – that secretly lies next to sleeping people, draining their life energy or causing nightmares.

Official Synopsis:
A young woman named Amihan returns to her remote ancestral home to care for her ailing grandmother. Soon, she experiences terrifying nightly episodes – feeling a cold presence beside her in bed, waking with bruises, and hearing whispers in the dark. Jomar, 32, builds websites by day and torrents rare Filipino indie films by night. While scavenging an obscure forum, he downloads a grainy bootleg labelled "Kasiping" with a fan-made tag: downloadk. The film is unlike anything he's seen — intimate, raw, and shot in a claustrophobic apartment — but abruptly stops mid-scene. Curious, Jomar sets out to find the rest of the film and the woman who starred in it.

When a struggling Manila web developer discovers an old, banned indie film titled "Kasiping," he becomes obsessed with finding the film's missing lead actress — only to uncover a forgotten community of creators, a secret cassette archive, and a choice that could remake his life or destroy the fragile world he loves.
