File Details:
After the death of Richard the Lionheart, the skilled archer Robin Longstride (Russell Crowe) returns from the Crusades to England. However, his journey home takes a turn when he assumes the identity of a fallen knight to return the crown to London.
Upon arriving, he encounters the dying father of the knight, Sir Walter Loxley (Max von Sydow), who asks Robin to continue the charade to protect the family estate in Nottingham. Robin soon discovers that England is in turmoil. The new King John is tyrannical, and a traitor, Godfrey (Mark Strong), is conspiring with the French to invade England.
Robin must unite the barons and lead the defense of the kingdom against the French invasion, all while falling for the spirited Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett). This isn't the "steal from the rich, give to the poor" fairy tale you remember—this is the origin story of how the legend was born.
