If you have two mods that edit the same quest or same piece of clothing, the one loaded last wins. Mods are loaded in the order the file system returns them (usually alphabetical). You cannot easily change load order via resource.cfg (unlike Skyrim’s plugin system), but you can create subfolders named 01_Core, 02_Overrides, etc., to force alphabetical loading.
You have two options: download a pre-made file or write your own. sims medieval resource.cfg
This is the most common mistake. If you create the file yourself using Notepad, Windows may hide the file extension, causing the file to actually be named Resource.cfg.txt. If you have two mods that edit the

New users often place the resource.cfg here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims Medieval\GameData\Shared\Packages\resource.cfg
Do not do this. The Program Files directory is protected by Windows User Account Control (UAC). The game cannot reliably write to or read from this location for mods. Furthermore, you risk corrupting core game files. Always use the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims Medieval user folder.
Symptom: You correctly placed the file, but Mac's Finder keeps renaming it to resource.cfg.txt.
Fix: You must disable "Hide file extensions" in Finder Preferences. Alternatively, use a code editor like BBEdit or Visual Studio Code to save files without automatic extensions.
