Smaart Live V9 Install -

This is the step that trips most people up. Smaart v9 requires a machine-specific license key.

Before you download the installer, make sure your machine is up to the task. Smaart is processor-intensive, especially when running multiple FFT engines.

Windows audio enhancements – Disable for your interface:

Power plan: High performance (prevents USB power saving that causes dropouts) smaart live v9 install

Sample rate lock: Set interface control panel to 48 kHz or 96 kHz, match in Smaart → Options → Audio Device → Sample Rate

Calibration file: Load your microphone’s .cal file in Options → Calibration


Windows:

  • Remove leftover audio drivers if desired (Device Manager → Audio inputs/outputs)
  • macOS:


    | Issue | Solution | |-------|----------| | "Failed to initialize ASIO" (Windows) | Reinstall your audio interface's native ASIO driver. Avoid ASIO4ALL if possible. | | No input levels on macOS | Check Security & Privacy → Microphone – toggle SMAART off and back on. | | License not found | Ensure your license is assigned to your account. Trial licenses activate the same way. | | Virtual driver not showing | Re-run the installer and select "Modify" → install the Rational ASIO driver. |


    Simply launch Smaart. You’ll have full access for 30 days. A popup will remind you of remaining days. This is the step that trips most people up
