If we interpret "UPD" as UDP, the update might optimize how video packets are sent. Unlike TCP (which checks for every lost packet), UDP sends data continuously, making it ideal for live streaming and reducing buffering. A "net upd" could tweak these UDP parameters for smoother playback.

Performing the update depends on how you originally installed the app. Below are the three common methods:

  • Multicast Support

  • Unreliable but Fast

  • Custom Error Concealment

  • Lightweight Header

  • Support for RTP over UDP

  • No Congestion Control (by default)

  • Quick Channel Switching (Zapping)

  • Tunneling / VPN Friendly
