Uhd 770 Hackintosh < Edge >
Fix: This is a bus speed issue. In Device Properties, add framebuffer-stolenmem with data AAAwAQ== (32MB) and framebuffer-fbmem with data CAAwAAA= (9MB).
Once booted, open System Information > Graphics/Displays.
Do not build a Hackintosh expecting UHD 770 to work.
No amount of kexts, patches, or spoofing will give you graphics acceleration. Apple’s Intel GPU drivers stop at Ice Lake (Gen 11). Alder Lake’s Gen 12 is unsupported and will never be.
If you already have it: follow the guide above for a basic display output, but immediately plan for a real AMD GPU.
The UHD 770 Hackintosh Dilemma: A Status Report The Intel UHD 770 integrated graphics processor (iGPU), found in 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Intel "Alder Lake" through "Raptor Lake Refresh" CPUs, represents a significant hurdle for the Hackintosh community. Unlike previous generations that could be "spoofed" to work with macOS drivers, the UHD 770 remains fundamentally unsupported for hardware acceleration. 1. The Core Compatibility Issue
The primary reason for the lack of support is that Apple transitioned away from Intel chips to its own Apple Silicon before ever using these newer Intel graphics architectures in a real Mac. Architecture Change: The UHD 770 is based on Intel's Xe architecture , which has no native drivers in macOS. Failed Spoofing: uhd 770 hackintosh
While older generations (like UHD 630) can be spoofed to look like supported Mac hardware, the UHD 770 is too architecturally different for this method to work. Attempting to use it results in only ~14MB of VRAM , leading to a sluggish UI without graphics acceleration. Highest Supported OS:
Technically, none. While you can boot macOS on these CPUs, the iGPU will never provide a smooth experience. 2. Current Hackintosh Solutions for Modern Intel CPUs
Since the iGPU is unusable for display or acceleration, users building Hackintoshes with 12th-14th Gen Intel CPUs must rely on alternative hardware paths. Dedicated GPU (dGPU) Requirement: To get a functional system, you use a compatible AMD graphics card. Recommended:
AMD Radeon RX 6600, 6600 XT, 6800, or 6900 XT (Navi 21/23 series).
You must disable the UHD 770 in the BIOS or via OpenCore to avoid conflicts and ensure macOS uses the AMD card for all tasks. CPU-Only Logic: The CPU itself (the P-cores and E-cores) Fix: This is a bus speed issue
compatible with macOS through OpenCore, though it requires specific patches to handle the hybrid core architecture. 3. Impact of Unsupported UHD 770
Running a system without iGPU support—even with a powerful dGPU—carries specific trade-offs: No Sidecar:
Features like Apple Sidecar (using an iPad as a second screen) require a supported iGPU for HEVC encoding. Poor Media Performance:
Tasks like QuickSync-based video rendering or hardware-accelerated playback of certain codecs may be unavailable, though a compatible AMD dGPU can take over most of these duties. Laptops are a "No-Go":
Because laptops rely on the iGPU to drive the internal display, 12th-14th Gen Intel laptops generally cannot be turned into functional Hackintoshes. 4. Future Outlook PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)
As Apple nears the end of its Intel-based software support cycle (with macOS 26 "Tahoe" potentially being among the final versions with x86 support), the likelihood of a community-developed driver for the UHD 770 is extremely low. The project is shifting toward "retro" maintenance rather than new hardware breakthroughs. OpenCore Alder Lake (12th-Gen Intel) Hackintosh Guidance
