Update Ktag Clone From 2.25 To 2.70 May 2026

Open your KTAG unit by removing the 4 screws on the back.

Use Zadig to replace the Ktag’s WinUSB driver with libusb-win32 (not libusbK). The official Alientech driver updater often fails on clones.

Many modern KTAG clones store vehicle protocols on the internal SD card. Update Ktag Clone From 2.25 To 2.70

Do not start with a $2000 Mercedes ECU. Use a cheap donor ECU (e.g., Bosch EDC17 from a junkyard Fiat or Opel).

If both read and write succeed without "Authentication Error 0x01" or "USB Reset Failed," your 2.70 update is fully functional. Open your KTAG unit by removing the 4 screws on the back


Connect your Ktag to USB and 12V power.
Windows will try to auto-install drivers – stop it.

Go to Device Manager → Unknown Device → Update Driver → Browse → Let me pick → Have Disk → Point to the FTDI folder from your 2.70 package.
Select "USB Serial Converter" version 2.12.00. If both read and write succeed without "Authentication

After installation, the device should appear as KTAG Interface in Device Manager.

Uninstall any old KSuite version. Reboot.
Install the new 2.70 software. When prompted for drivers, cancel – we will install manually.
