X Ray Minecraft 1.8 8 Texture Pack
Technically, the X-Ray Texture Pack is not "adding" anything to the game. Instead, it subtracts. It works by replacing the standard block textures with transparent or invisible textures, while leaving the textures for valuable resources (ores, spawners, chests) visible.
In version 1.8.8, the logic is simple:

Turn up your in-game sounds. While digging, listen for the sound of lava, water, or hostile mobs. These sounds indicate a cave. Caves expose more stone surface area, meaning more visible ore veins.
The pack must completely remove stone, andesite, diorite, and granite textures. In 1.8.8, you also want it to handle prismarine and netherrack. Technically, the X-Ray Texture Pack is not "adding"
