Your Security Settings Have Blocked An Application Exclusive May 2026
If you are a developer or frequently run exclusive software, you can disable Gatekeeper entirely via Terminal. Warning: Only do this if you fully trust every app you use.
To re-enable Gatekeeper later, type: sudo spctl --master-enable
Sometimes, the word “exclusive” refers to a license check that requires an internet connection. If you are using a VPN, antivirus, or a strict firewall: your security settings have blocked an application exclusive
After disabling the firewall temporarily, try to open the app. If it works, add the app to the allowed list and re-enable the firewall.
