🚨 PSA for facility managers: Update your ZKTeco firmware NOW.

✅ Back up users ✅ Grab update.dat ✅ USB FAT32 ✅ Menu > USB > Update

Do NOT power off during reboot. Have you bricked a device before? 🤦‍♂️ #ZKTEco #SecurityUpdate

The method differs slightly depending on the age of your device.

Before you begin, you need to identify your device and gather the necessary tools.

For devices already enrolled in ZKAccess 3.5 or ZKTime.Net, you can push firmware remotely.

Note: This method requires that the PC and device are on the same subnet and that port 4370 is open.

| Issue | Possible Solution | | :--- | :--- | | "File Error" or "No File Found" | 1. Ensure the USB is formatted as FAT32.2. Ensure the file is in the root directory, not a subfolder.3. Check if the file name contains special characters; some devices require the file to be named specifically (keep the default name provided by ZKTeco). | | Stuck on Boot Screen | This is a "Brick." Try holding the power button to force a restart. If it persists, the OS is corrupted and the device requires service from the manufacturer. | | Touch Screen Calibration Off | Sometimes firmware updates reset calibration. Look for a "Screen Calibration" option in System Settings. | | Network Not Working | Firmware updates often reset IP addresses. Re-configure the IP address in the Network Settings. |

Heads up, ZKTeco users! 🚨

If your fingerprint attendance machine is acting glitchy or freezing, a firmware update usually fixes it.

Here's the safe way to do it (Don't skip step 1):

Pro tip: Don't use a 64GB USB stick. Old ZK units only like 8GB or 16GB drives!
